Proventia Thermo King Bobtail TRU

Today, Proventia announced that they have received CARB approval for the Proventia FTF (flow through filter) which fits many models of the Thermo King straight truck (bobtail) TRUs such as the MDII, KDII, TDII and more. The Proventia FTF is the lowest cost method for Thermo King Bobtail TRU owners to comply with the California Air Resources Board (CARB), Low-Emission Transport Refrigeration Unit (LETRU) In–Use Performance Standard for 2002 and older TRUs.
The Proventia FTF and FTF Bobtail are passive flow-through filters that use engine exhaust temperature to regenerate the filter and are currently CARB verified to LE standards for use with Thermo King model TRUs.  Both systems reduce harmful particulate matter emissions around trucking facilities; protecting the health of trucking industry employees and those who work in and around the trucking industry.
CARB regulations require that all of the approximately 40,000 TRU engines on the road in California, including those travelling from outside the state, to have emission control technology on TRUs that are seven years or older. The CARB regulations are backed by the January 19, 2009 ARB waiver (http://www.arb.ca.gov/diesel/tru/documents/status_update_10_07) from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), which allows the state to enforce the reduction of toxic diesel emissions generated by refrigeration units mounted on big rigs.
Rypos will be the exclusive North American Distributor for the Proventia Bobtail Flow Through Filter (FTF), passive filter system.  Rypos is already the exclusive North American distributor for the Proventia FTF Filter System that fits Thermo King trailer TRU models, such as the SB, Whisper, SuperII, Sentry and more. In addition to the distribution of the Proventia passive FTFs, Rypos manufacturers and sells the RYPOS DPF/LETRU active diesel particulate filter designed to retrofit Carrier trailer model TRUs. The RYPOS DPF/LETRU active diesel particulate filter uses an electrically conductive sintered metal fiber medium and electrical power from the TRU to regenerate the filter when needed. It is microprocessor controlled with a backpressure control system, an electrical control circuit, and a backpressure warning indicator.
“Our commitment to serving the entire TRU industry is evident in our pursuit to offer emission control products for all Thermo King and Carrier TRUs,” comments Peter Bransfield, CEO of RYPOS. “This enables mixed fleet operators to retrofit their fleets to meet the CARB standards with a single supplier.” For information on all of the Proventia TRU filters contact sales@proventiafilters.com or call 800-609-7686.
