May 2, 2013

Kaley Cuoco is our eco-celeb of the week for her pit bull passion and animal activismEco News Network presents our favorite eco-celeb of the week. We love seeing what celebrities are up to, and that doesn’t mean when it comes to movies, television or music albums, but with how they’re giving back to the planet. This week, blonde bombshell Kaley Cuoco caught our eye. In addition to her acting skills, she has quite the love for animals. Check out how she protects Mother Earth.

Kaley Cuoco is one of the main stars of the CBS hit comedy “The Big Bang Theory.” She is known and loved for her role as blonde bombshell Penny who isn’t quite as interested in science and comic books as her boyfriend, Leonard.

In a recent episode, Penny reveals she isn’t passionate about anything, but that isn’t so for Cuoco in real life.

For those who don’t know, Cuoco is a an avid animal activist, especially when it comes to pit bulls. Seen as a controversial and dangerous animal, Cuoco goes above and beyond to inform others they are just like every other dog.

In November 2012, the actress starred in an “I Love My Pit Bull” PSA put together by Angel City Pit Bulls. The video shows pit bull owners and why they love these pooches so much.

Her pit bull passion doesn’t stop there. She also got into a debate with TV host Kelly Ripa over some “heartbreaking” comments Ripa made regarding pit bulls. She called them “dangerous” and “a gangster’s dog.”

Well, Cuoco fired back and tweeted, “Completely heart broken and disappointed.” She added, “I really hope @KellyRipa didn’t say what I think she said this am regarding pit bulls. #Please don’t be true.”

Cuoco did let fans know she wasn’t at “war” with Ripa, but just extremely protective over her pit bulls, “Ok I’m NOT in a war w @KellyRipa.We are friends for years and I adore her! just have a severe luv 4 my global pitbull fam and owners! :)”

If that’s not enough, Cuoco is also an advocate for all animals. In 2010, she recorded a song, “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” to raise money for The Humane Society of the United States.

No one should get between Cuoco, her pit bull passion and her love of animals. She’s a great advocate for animals, and will be for years to come.
