Mr. Lathrop’s Richly Famous Compote

Recipe:
Take organic dried fruits (prunes and apricots work best), and simmer until meltingly tender but not in shreds.
With a stick of cinnamon in just enough water to keep covered, remove from fire and cool.
Present with whipped cream, the cream topping of whole milk, yogurt, or sour cream to dollop on for a sinfully delicious dessert.

In warmer months, use rhubarb cut into one inch pieces and simmer just until tender (about three minutes).
Sprinkle with organic sugar.
