Former professional Ironman triathlete and vegan extraordinaire Brendan Brazier is at it again regarding his famous “Thrive” nutritional foods business. This time, he’s launching a brand spanking new cookbook.
Before you get too excited, the cookbook is scheduled for a January 2014 release, but that doesn’t mean we can’t get ahead of the game, right? We were lucky enough to speak exclusively with Brazier and he let us in on some of the book’s details.
Brazier is well-known, not only for his athleticism, but also for his Thrive nutritional food lines and books; his Vega sport performance systems; his ZoN Thrive Fitness program; and of course his informational expertise on anything vegan.
He is continuing to lend a helping hand in all those areas with his new “Thrive” recipe book. For those who don’t know, Brazier already released a “Thrive Foods” recipe book in 2011, but his new cookbook will act as a follow-up and will vary from the original.
The plant-based recipes will incorporate the nutritional concept from the original book, and will also be more dramatic, darker and edgier. Instead of just printing recipes, the book will be a full color photo book with each recipe accompanied by a photo. It will provide quite the variety with 100 recipes and 100 photos for everyone to enjoy.
Furthermore, it goes hand-in-hand with Brazier’s Thrive Juice Bar, as a spin-off to the restaurant.
“I’ve seen some of those books before where a chef will write a book based about his restaurant, and I thought that was really cool, because a lot of the shots are in the restaurant and you really get a feel for it and it’s very well branded,” Brazier says.
Some photos will be shot in the studio, but there will be plenty of photos from the actual physical restaurant.
With his new recipe book, Brazier hopes to provide variety and inspiration for healthy lifestyles.
“I of course want to keep people eating foods that they enjoy and I want to keep it fresh for them and new. People need change; they don’t want to eat the same thing over and over, even if they really like it.
“My big thing, of course, is I want to inspire those who don’t eat this way. I want people who are just looking for a recipe book – whether they are vegetarian, vegan or a diet eater – and say ‘this looks amazing, this looks really good, I want to try this,’” he explains.
Overall, he just wants to help people.
Even though publication is a long ways away you can stay up to date on Brazier and his beneficial information by joining his new web series, Thrive Forward, which launches this January.
The online guide brings all of Brazier’s concepts of his books to life in video. From clean eating 101 to basics for those just getting started to more sophisticated information for experienced people, Brazier describes it as “totally scalable.”
What will he come up with next? We can’t wait to see!
