Winter is here; can you believe it? The bitter cold is settling in and that means we need hearty food to keep us warm. Of course, we also can’t forget those yummy sweets that also come with the season. Mint is just a great flavor for winter. You can add mint garnishes to a variety of dishes and even drinks. If you love peppermint, then this easy drink recipe from The Healthy Voyager will satisfy those taste buds and keep you warm throughout the cold season!
Peppermint Hot Cocoa
3 tablespoons Chocolate Ganache Frosting & Fudge Mix
8 ounces of soy milk, rice milk, almond milk, etc.
1 small candy cane or peppermint extract, to taste
Add your chocolate mix to a saucepan. Add a splash of your milk and mix until pasty. Then add the rest of the liquid, mix and heat on medium heat until it’s well incorporated and heated to your liking.
Add candy cane to a mug and pour hot cocoa over it. If you’re opting for the peppermint extract, add it drop by drop until you’ve reached your desired taste. Top with vegan whipped cream, candy cane crumbles and/or chocolate shavings.
