Celebrate Mother's Day by giving back to eco-causes like Water.orgMother’s Day is a day to honor our hardworking and loving mothers. Sometimes it can be difficult to find that perfect gift that says “I Love You,” but why not do something different this year and make a donation to an important eco-cause in honor of your mom? To help you out, we’ve gathered a few causes that are accepting donations in honor of moms , and the environment, all over the world.

1. Give the Gift of Safe Water
This Mother’s Day, you can “Honor a Mother. Honor Another.” with’s special global water crisis campaign. First, send an eCard to your mom – or a mother figure – to say “Happy Mother’s Day!” Next, make a $25 donation to in honor of another mother suffering from the global water crisis. Did you know this small amount gives one mother safe water for life? That’s a happy Mother’s Day.

2. Give the Gift of Solar Power
Say “I love you” on this special holiday by helping out WE CARE Solar. This cause is quite important as it “promotes safe motherhood and reduces maternal mortality in developing regions by providing health workers with reliable lighting, mobile communication and blood bank refrigeration using solar electricity.” The organization sends Solar Suitcases to women and clinics in need, which is greatly beneficial, especially with sporadic electricity outages. If you donate $25 by Thursday, May 9, WE Care Solar will send a Mother’s Day card honoring your mother.

3. Give the Gift of Wildlife Protection
If you love your mom and wildlife, then a great way to celebrate Mother’s Day is by giving back to the World Wildlife Fund. All you have to do is make a donation of any amount to WWF, which benefits all wildlife species and global conservation efforts, and send an adorable animal eCard directly to your mom.

4. Give the Gift of Conservation
Does your mom care about the rainforest? Why not give her the gift of a donation to the Rainforest Alliance? A donation not only benefits the rainforest, but also provides safe working conditions and decent wages for farm workers. This is the perfect gift, as the Rainforest Alliance says, “After all, wasn’t it she who taught you to be mindful of others?”

How will you show your mom, and other mothers, you care this Sunday, May 12?
