Apple Cider Vinegar Beauty Benefits

There’s no denying it, apple cider vinegar is a great addition to your natural beauty bank. Many years back, I read about the benefits of ACV and bought it by the gallon. It became a bit of an obsession and a little much for my family and friends. I took shots of it three times a day; I saturated my skin with it, I washed my hair with it. I didn’t care to rinse it out or dilute or anything normal like that. Then, I would repeat the process. Needless to say, it got out of hand. I noticed it was too much when people began backing up every time I came around. Even though I was overdoing it and repelling my loved ones, I had the right idea.

ACV helps in maintaining healthy alkaline pH levels, detoxifies your body, helps circulate the cardiovascular system, can aid in releasing serotonin, and can rid the body of candida thanks to its natural enzymes. It is also helpful in preventing indigestion if sipped 20-30 minutes before a big, bountiful meal (Thanksgiving is almost here-FYI).

Besides all these wonderful health benefits, here are three big ways ACV can beautify your body:

Hair: Is your hair lacking luster? ACV is known to give hair a natural, luminescent shine. Instead of using a conditioner after shampooing, try pouring apple cider vinegar through your hair and letting it sit a few minutes before rinsing it out. The smell will fade-don’t worry.

Skin: As I mentioned before ACV helps maintain healthy alkaline pH levels which means it will regulate the pH of your skin as well. It will improve the overall complexion of your skin and fade dark spots and blemishes as well. I like to dilute the ACV with water and use it as a toner. You can keep it on overnight or rinse it off.

Weight Loss: ACV helps improve metabolism by aiding in the absorption of iron. Since iron helps the body utilize oxygen, that helps improve metabolism. It also helps with water retention because the high potassium levels flush toxins and excess sodium out of the body. Try adding two teaspoons of ACV to a glass of water and drinking it every morning. It is important to dilute the ACV because its high acidity can cause throat irritation.

Make sure when purchasing ACV, look for a good quality brand that is unfiltered, unheated, raw, and organic such as Bragg.
Hopefully you won’t go overboard with this natural wonder like I did and be able to enjoy the beauty and health benefits of apple cider vinegar!
