However did you know that by opting to cook with certain herbs, you could be cashing in on your own garden of youth? There are certain herbs that have anti-aging properties so be sure to remember them the next time you research a recipe.
Known for improving memory, rosemary has a diterpine known as carnosic acid, which contains neuroprotective properties that may help prevent Alzheimer disease and also help with normal memory loss. Even taking several whiffs of this wonderfully scented herb can serve to enhance memory! It is also wonderful for the health of your hair. Rinsing your hair with rosemary infused water can increase luster and growth.
Another herb that aids in brain function, ginseng can boost the function of the brain, especially in older adults. It is also useful to help alleviate symptoms of menopause by relieving hot flashes and balancing hormone levels. It also helps to tone skin and muscle and restore sexual health and energy.
Thymol, an oil that comes from thyme helps protect your cell membranes from damaging free oxygen radicals and aids in the overall function of organs. Consuming thyme can also inhibit the growth of bacteria and fungi in the body.
This Chinese herb triggers actions in the body to help protect the nervous system from damage, it increases blood flow to the brain and is useful for those who have poor blood circulation. It also has the ability to protect the skin against free radicals and fight wrinkles.
