Three Natural Cleaning Recipes

Just a few minutes a day is all it takes to spruce up highly used home areas, decks, and porches but using harmful chemicals to do it is, well, harmful. Here are three easy and natural cleaning recipes that will get the job done and do it safely.woman doing housekeeping

Creamy Soft Scrub (ovens and tubs)

  • 1/2 cup baking soda
  • Liquid dish detergent

Combine until frosting consistency. To keep add 1 teaspoon vegetable glycerin and store in a sealed jar.

Window CleanerNatural cleaners. Vinegar, baking soda, salt and lemon.

  • 1/2 teaspoon liquid detergent
  • 3 teaspoons vinegar
  • 2 cups water

Combine ingredients in a spray bottle. Use recycled newspapers or a microfiber cleaning cloth to wipe.

  • 1/2 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1/4 cup vinegar or fresh squeezed lemon juice

Mix in a glass jar. Dab on wood and wipe.

Other natural cleaning recipes:

Mold killers: spray cutting boards, toilets, counters and other surfaces with 5% vinegar in water solutions to kill more than 80% of mold

Musty smells: mix 2 teaspoons of tea tree oil in 2 cups of water. Spray without rinsing.
